well, just got back from my shoot at the 5FDP Shock and Raw Tour.

yep, I was able to actually shoot the 4 bands at the show. I was Not able to get a full on photo pass to get in front of the crowd barrier as i had hoped, but this was a last minute kind of thing, so i had to deal with the crowd in my exploits. I guess thats what i have to deal with since i am not a pro, but a guy on the way up right?

I got a new lens for this gig, a 50mm 1.8 lens. knowing i was going to be shooting in the dark, and all that, i got the lens, with very little time of use before the show started. i had to delete a ton of shots, but did manage some that i really like considering the circumstances i dealt with.

so you will see those as i clean em up and put em on here.

as for the show itself....DAMN! if any of you are metal heads, this was one of the best shows i have seen. a new band, '2 Cents' was pretty good, and very funny with all the shit they pull on stage. 'Otep' really impressed me, I wasnt a fan before this gig, but i like what they do, and meeting their bass player after the show was great, you get to know where they come from. Shadows Fall, this was my 3rd time seeing them, and by far the most impressive of those 3 times, the new stuff is easier to like.

and for my boys, the guys i came to hear, 5 Finger Death Punch...hells yeah kids. great stuff, the new album just rules. it fills that void in metal left since the old days of Pantera. they kicked massive ass. their cover of 'Bad Company' just blows me away. i like it so much more than the original.
